Basketball games

Lance is starting for the Varsity basketball team at Rehoboth this year.  This is quite an accomplishment considering he had a broken wrist in September and is only a sophomore.  He has worked hard at his skills-spending most of his summer's at camps, etc.  He loves the game and is good at it and we love to watch him play.
This was in our newspaper!  So exciting.  His first newspaper photo!

Lance is #10 for home games and his favorite #11 for away

They stand like this for the national anthem and to shake hands with the other team.

They say a prayer like this after each game

Uncle Parl's Funeral

Uncle Parl passed away on Oct. 22, 2014.  He was 90 years old.  He's my mom's only brother and she has a sister Cherrill who passed away a couple of years ago so she feels somewhat alone.  The funeral and burial were in Pinetop, Arizona.  We took some family pictures with mom while we were all together.
Jeff, mom, Shirley, Tigger.  Debbie & Terry are standing behind

This is Victoria's (Ammon & Taleah's baby) grave which is near Uncle Parl's.

We had everyone except Shelly who was recovering from Kidney stones.

Lance is all better!

Lance got his cast off and was cleared by the Doctor on Oct. 30th just a few days before basketball season started.  He has a very impressive scar!

Halloween Piano Recital 2014!

I decided to do a Halloween recital this year for the first time.
Lance, Heather and Kyle

Kyle is "stick man"

Lance is Robin Hood

Why didn't I do this before?  Everyone played a Halloween or "spooky" type song and could dress up too.  It was so fun.

Everyone has a vehicle

Katie bought a new car so we took a picture of everyone with their modes of transportation.
Katie has a Toyota Camry, Heather a Chevy Equinox, Kyle has a bike, John a Ford F350, and Lance gets the Toyota Siena mini van.  He's still in a sling from a broken wrist in this picture.

Lance's broken wrist!

I got a call from the school on Thurs. Sept. 4th saying there had been an accident on the field while the students in the sophomore class were playing ultimate frisbee.  Lance dove for a frisbee, caught it with his left hand but fell on his right wrist and broke it.  We had many miracles and prayers during this experience.  We went to the Gallup RMCH ER where they set his arm as much as possible with 2 breaks.  We left the next morning for Albuquerque to see an orthopedic dr. and were able to get into surgery.  Lance ended up fasting for almost 24 hours because of the timing of the surgery and then not wanting to eat after-except for a milkshake!
Mr. Frederiksen met me at the ER with Lance.  We are checking in as Lance holds his wrist

In the ER

His arm is pretty swollen in this picture

The next day we drove to Albuquerque to see an Orthopedic doctor

His wrist is broke in 2 places.  They were able to get him right into surgery.

Lance was charming all the nurses and doctors just before surgery.

Removing the stitches two weeks after Lance's surgery

Lance has 2 pins in his wrist

Lance gets a cast!  He picked his favorite color, green and is happy to be somewhat mobile.

Labor Day 2014 Camping weekend

We have an annual campout with family over Labor Day.  We love this chance to take our RV out one last time before we store it for the winter.  We camped at Aspen Campground near Heber, Arizona

Church in Cristopher Creek, Arizona.  It was a branch but with all the visitors there were over 300 people.  The boys helped pass the sacrament.

A hike on the rim.

Did the boys fall over the edge???

Beautiful view on this hike.
